油动车装备的内燃式发动机有四个冲程，分别为：进气喷油，压缩蒸发，膨胀做功，排出废气。其中压缩冲程的作用是在燃烧之前提升燃烧室的内部温度，以高温蒸发喷射到气缸内的液态汽油;要知道汽油在液态状态下的燃烧速度会比较慢，而在气态中则会达到“爆燃”的高效程度。所以压缩蒸发是最重要的步骤，进入气缸内的空气被压缩会产生高温，因为压缩过程中会加速分子运动的强度
